My First Post

Okay to get to know me and my style, I will show some pictures of my home. I believe its cottage/shabby chic/country style decor. The first photo is of my bay window, the armchair is my first and only re-upholstering I have done,I used cream denim. The chair I bought a few years ago from goodwill,I think it cost about $45.00. It sat patiently in our basement for a year or two, until I plucked up courage to finally do it.
The second photo is of a wooden bench i also bought from goodwill,it was a dingy brown,so out came the cream paint again. I love and follow alot of blogs where everything is painted white, but in my house I feel like cream just adds brightness but also a little warmth to everything.
The last photo is of my mantel. I do not have a working fireplace as yet. I spotted the limewashed 90's mantel on my way to work,it was at the bottom of a neighbours driveway, with a sign saying free. I immediately called my husband and asked him to go get it for me. He was not pleased but felt obliged,as the week before i had asked him to retrieve an old pair of ladders from a builders dumpster, which he couldn't get out of the bin due to all builders materials on top.(I was very disappointed).Anyway he and my daughter struggled back carrying this heavy mantel for me.(not happy bunnies).
A few weeks later After a few alterations,I painted it cream, distressed it a little, and attached it to the wall. I used to have a small shelf on the wall, now I have much more space to decorate with seasonal decor. This is my Easter/Spring stuff on it, I made the 'Maileg' inspired bunnies, because I love them, and couldn't really afford to buy them from maileg, and the little fabric carrots were inspired by 'Tildas' little fabric radishes.(No 1 Tilda fan) by the way.
Anyway sorry I rambled so long,I guess I have to learn to keep it short and sweet.
